Twisted Mix Tape - Scary!!

This week over at Jen's the theme, with it being Halloween soon and everything, is scary songs!

Mhawhahahahaha - yeah, I really can't do the evil laugh, so let's get on spinning the tracks shall we?

1.  Backstreet’s Back – Backstreet Boys

Now the video for this one gets it on my scary list - I love the costumes, love the choreography, and love the track!  Definitely fit for Halloween I hope you'll agree.

2.  Michael Jackson - Thriller

Well obviously this classic HAD to be on the list.  It's a classic, and whilst I was a bit young at the time, I am informed by a documentary I once saw that it was a film event in itself, and had to be shown late in the evening as it was so scary!  Lots of extras as zombie backing-dancers as well!

3.  Linda McCartney - Oriental Nightfish

Now I don't know how or why, but this was thought appropriate to be on a VHS I had when I was small, along with Rupert Bear (fine, apart from the evil owl) and Seaside Woman (very jolly).  Somewhere along the way, the McCartney's forgot this was a children's video and put this on there, complete with video of naked woman being flung through space and combusting!  Still freaks me out a little now, I'm just glad I didn't have nightmares!

4.  Ghostbusters

Ultimate 80s film spawned this ultimate 80s, scary hit, featuring lots of celebrities of the day shouting "GHOSTBUSTERS!".  Yep, the ghosts are scary, but it's okay, these guys have got it sorted!

5.  Rockwell - Somebody’s watching me

I just love this track, good to sing along to, and all about being spied on and those evil things lurking around the corner!

Okay, here's the deal, please comment, and get on over to Jen's and add your own list!

  1. I had forgotten that BSB did that spooky video. I had admired the whole costuming of it at the time. Nice songs!

    1. Why thank you, and to think it was a last minute memory that almost didn't make it! It did scare me a bit as a child really, but children like to be scared a little, don't they? Have a good Halloween if you're doing something.

  3. Now, I could easily picture a group of skeletons dancing to Backstreet's Back and ending the song with a scare tactic. Cool indeed!

  4. OK, I have never seen that BSB video and I must say I really like it! I am a sucker sometimes for teeny bopper stuff (I mean I know the song, but the video has nothing to do with it :-) ). ALSO that Linda McCartney video is for children??? WHAT?
    Great list Emma!

Yep, that was on my Rupert Bear video, I don't know what they were thinking!

Thanks for having me play :)

    1. Hello, don't feel bad, not sure they ever released it as a single, they just felt like putting it on a children's video to scare them??? Glad to introduce you to it :)
